On Top of the World

As some may know, I am a stay at home mom. This requires me to wear many hats: maid, cook, teacher, organizer, etc. And I love this job. It fills my heart with joy to be able to spend the day with my children, to make my house look homey, or have an inviting environment for my husband to come home to. Especially when it has been a good day at home, I feel confident, successful, and able to take on the world.

This morning I am on top of the world… I am following my schedule. It is only 7:30am and I have laundry going, breakfast baking, devotions finished, and now I am writing.

Honestly though, that is not everyday. There are many days I have felt like a failure. A sigh at the end of the day, and a promise that tomorrow I WILL do better.

So this is just a little note to say, If you’re not on top of the world today, take heart dear one, strive for it tomorrow! Make a schedule that gives you a bit of grace, and follow it! You can do it!

Perhaps you say, “What can you do about today? I don’t want to wait until tomorrow?” Well I would say to look at your next hour. How much can you accomplish in that hour? Pick one thing to do and make it a priority for that hour. Even if it is just feeding and clothing children (that’s important!!). After one win, make a two hour goal or an afternoon schedule/goal – what will you do during nap time/quiet time?

We can each do this, but it does HAVE to be intentional.

I have recently been going through a book by speaker and author Tonya Dalton titled The Joy of Missing Out. One thing that has really stuck out to me is that it is my choice. I choose to be a slave to my obligations or I can choose to say no to something in order to say yes to something more important – like a homey house. 🙂

SO… if today is not your on-top-of-the-world day. PLEASE don’t be discouraged, choose to have an on-top-of-the-world hour or afternoon. I know you can do it!!

Blessings on your day!
